Brenda Reiss-Brennan, PhD, APRN Director, Mental Health Integration Intermountain Healthcare
Bio: Dr. Reiss-Brennan is a medical anthropologist and psychiatric nurse practitioner working in primary care for over 35 years. As a principal investigator she leads Intermountain Healthcare's (IH) adoption, diffusion and evaluation of clinical integration for mental health and primary care. The cost and quality evidence of the Mental Health Integration (MHI) innovation has transformed primary care culture and has spread rapidly over 90 IH medical clinics including uninsured, rural and 45 non-IH community clinics throughout the United States. MHI provides team based culture for the advancement of IH medical health homes which supports the shared accountability driven by US health reform. Dr. Reiss-Brennan holds a longstanding faculty appointment at the University of Utah, College of Nursing. She serves as a local, national and international consultant for cultural innovation, implementation and spread of MHI cost and quality research to improve population health.
Wayne Cannon, MD Medical Director, Primary Care Clinical Program Intermountain Medical Group
Bio: Dr. Cannon attended Medical School at the University of Utah and Residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah/Primary Children's Medical Center. Dr. Cannon is a Board Certified pediatrician. He was worked as a pediatrician 31 years, including the last 28 at Bryner Clinic. He is also the Medical Director for the Primary Care Clinical Program at Intermountain healthcare where he oversees the development, implementation and coordination of system wide primary care initiatives in Intermountain.
Linda Leckman, MD ice President of Intermountain Healthcare and CEO Intermountain Medical Group
Bio: Linda Leckman, MD, is vice president of Intermountain Healthcare and chief executive officer of Intermountain Medical Group, positions she has held since 1996. Previously, Dr. Leckman was in private practice as a general surgeon for 14 years. Dr. Leckman is a member of the Board of Trustees of Intermountain Healthcare, the Board of Directors of the American Medical Group Association, and the Utah Board of the Nature Conservancy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University, the Dr. Leckman received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico.
Laurie Younger, RN Regional Nurse Consultant Intermountain Medical Group
Bio: Laurie Younger has worked in Healthcare for 20 years and has been a Registered Nurse for 16 of those years. She started out in Labor and Delivery- working as a floor nurse and also covered well-baby nursery and postpartum. During her Labor and Delivery career, she also worked as a Charge Nurse and Prenatal Instructor. Laurie joined the Intermountain team 5 years ago and has worked in the Medical Group as a Regional Nurse Consultant since that time.
